Independence Day.......are we really independent even after 67 years? I hate to believe that we are still so not independent. By independence we mean freedom....freedom of speech, freedom of living your life on your terms, freedom from all thats scary, freedom from corruption. But i think we dont observe any of the above so we actually as a human didnt achieve anything after the so called independence. Instead we gradually are losing our humanity with each passing days. In 1947 we were gifted by our independence from the Britishers and cursed by the religious division that came from dividing our country on the basis of hindus and muslims. But was that demarcation of land actually have stopped muslims to live in India. In India all religions stay together. So what was the point of this demarcation which led to mass destructions riots curfews tortures harassment for both the religions. Whatever is done cant be altered. Even now the same problem persists. Sometimes it comes in the name of inhuman rapings of innocent young and old women which goes without any dew justice. Even we pay for the high expenses to punish terrorists who are madeto kill as our law takes usually more than a year or may be two to decide whether to hang a terrorist or not. In India there are villages where till date killing girl foeticides are still in practice. If a woman comes out from her home she have to be very careful about what she wears and how she looks in order to avoid starings. If a woman worjs on a night shift people start rumours about her sleeping with someone else. If a guy doesnt want to get married then he turns to b a gay......people in our country think that too. Plus politically we are so corrupted that even if we wish to breathe in freedom we cant. If we vote and choose a party that definitely turns out to b a huge mistake in few months. If we dont vote it actually doesnot matter much. And actually there is no point of casting a vote because whoever you choose to lead your country it turns out to be an opportunist nd misuse the power for their own benefits. So with all these problems we are not independent at all. In fact we are more in trouble than that age when there were britishers. The deaths of those patriots went allin vain because their actual aim was to free India from corruption dependencies, tortures, harrassments, brutal killings.....and these things still persists and that too in a modern technologically advanced ways. So the fact though hard to digest remains the same and if we dont act quickly on this then we might lose every freedom once again and i doubt that there wont be that much patriots who will emerge out as saviors.
